1. Material Specifications

To ensure the sign doesn't warp or fade, specific material grades are used:

Base: ACP (Aluminum Composite Panel)

 

• Thickness: Usually 3mm or 4mm.

• Coating: PVDF coating is essential for outdoor use (resists UV and acid rain). For indoor use, PE coating is sufficient.

• Core: Low-density polyethylene (LDPE). For high-rise buildings, a Fire-Retardant (FR) core is often required.

• Finish: Available in matte, glossy, brushed silver/gold, or wooden textures.

When specifying **SS (Stainless Steel) Engraving**, you are opting for the most durable signage solution available. It is the industry standard for environments involving high heat, chemical exposure, or extreme weather (marine/industrial).

The quality of the final product depends on the **grade** of the steel and the **depth** of the engraving.

1. Material Grades
* **Grade 304:** The standard for indoor and general outdoor use. Excellent corrosion resistance for most commercial applications.
* **Thickness:** Typically ranges from **0.8mm to 3mm**. is the "sweet spot" for most data plates and professional plaques.
2. Surface Finishes
* **Brushed / Satin (No. 4 Finish):** The most popular choice. It features a fine grain that hides fingerprints and minor scratches.
* **Mirror / Polished (No. 8 Finish):** Reflective like a mirror. High-end look, but requires frequent cleaning to maintain.
* **Bead Blasted:** A matte, non-reflective "sand" finish that provides a modern, industrial aesthetic.
3. Engraving Techniques

4. Infill & Contrast
Since stainless steel is monochromatic, contrast is created through "Infilling":
* **Paint Filling:** Recessed areas are filled with epoxy-based paint (usually Black, Red, or Blue) and then baked for durability.

Material Grade:

• SS-304: The most common grade for residential use; it is rust-proof and all-weather resistant.
• Engraving Methods:
  • Laser Engraving: Uses precision fiber lasers to create permanent, sharp text and logos. Often paired with "color filling" (like black Duco paint) for high contrast.
  • Chemical Etching: Deeply etches the design into the metal, which is then filled with paint. This is highly durable and common for industrial name plates.
  • Laser Cut: Letters are cut entirely through the plate or as separate raised pieces to create a 3D effect.
  • Finishes:
    • Brushed/Matt: A textured, non-reflective finish that hides fingerprints and scratches well.
    • Mirror/Polished: A highly reflective, chrome-like surface for a more luxurious look.
